SaaStr is the largest web community for SaaS and B2B founders, execs, and founders-to-be. Our website, Quora posts, YouTube videos, and more reach over 3,000,000 views a month, and the annual conference in ‘16 attracted ~5,000 founders, VCs, execs and was the largest non-vendor event in the industry. SaaStr is looking for a Conference Manager to oversee the creation of the content for the conference program for SaaStr Annual, our in person conference with over 5K attendees, and help build our content year round. The Conference Manager will source speakers and speaker topics in order to maintain the integrity of SaaStr Annual’s high standard of content, as well as serving as an alternate spokesperson of the event/brand.

Who you are:

  • Lead speaker recruitment by reaching out to the most influential players in SaaS, some through your network, some in the SaaStr network and some through a cold call approach
  • Connect with industry professionals to discuss future speaking opportunities, partnerships, validity of proposed topics, event timing\future event locations, and build strategic relationships for SaaStr
  • Manage content development and content strategy by advising on direction of conference content, i.e. what topics/speakers we need to invite
  • Produce event schedules, prepares timelines, and launch call for speakers
  • Development and maintenance of all data for conference speakers and submissions, including tracking all feedback and ongoing speaker communication
  • Updating and maintaining accuracy of conference content in internal databases, websites and printed materials
  • Liaison with event production team to coordinate speaker event logistics and communication
  • Supplying marketing and sales departments with conference content information as needed for promotional materials, sales opportunities, related campaigns, etc.

What you’ll do:

  • You have an interest and an established network in the SaaS community including knowing who the key players would be
  • You have a solid comfort level with current trends in the SaaS community and what topics interest founders, execs, and our general audience
  • You have the ability to work with a small team that is growing and learning as they go in a dynamic startup environment
  • You have developed a content program, maybe a user conference
  • You may be in content marketing and want to be more involved in the events side of things, while still having the oppurtutnity to think of new ways to promote our content year round
  • You are an innovative thinker that thrives in ambiguity
  • You are detail-oriented with ability to handle various tasks/projects simultaneously under multiple deadlines
  • You have strong relationship-building skills
  • You have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in managing professional conference events and conference management
  • You have strong writing and editing skills
  • You possess strong relational database management skills and ability to roll out new processes
